We are looking for individuals age 16+ with some youth development experience to help implement educational, enrichment, and recreational activities. Join a fun team working together to help children succeed and grow into caring, responsible citizens.
Duties
Prepare Youth for Success
1.Assists in creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
-Assists in promoting and stimulating program participation. Engages with members in a variety of activities and programs, and helps create a warm, caring environment.
-Assists in orientating new members to the Club’s daily scheduling and program expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, and Take Care).
-Acts as a role model to members by promoting a caring and respectful attitude, respecting all backgrounds, privacy, and confidentiality.
2.Assists Group Leaders with the implementation and administration of programs, services, and activities for members.
3.Demonstrates leadership through consistent use of safety and licensing best practices to ensure proper conduct and safety of members.
4.Continuously accounts for the members in their assigned group by name, face, and written attendance.
5.Assists in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the well-being of the program space and upkeep.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.May participate in special programs and/or events such as all-staff training days.
2.May be asked to participate in staff meetings.
3.May be asked to document observations, with supervisor support, related to incidents and injuries that they might have witnessed. Youth employees should not communicate with child care licensing, or DCYF on their own and should have support from another adult employee who will assist with filing a report.
Requirements
•Must be 16 years of age or older.
•Knowledge of youth development is a plus.
•Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
•Willingness to learn, and assist with planning, preparation, and implementation of quality programs for youth with guidance from Branch/Site or Program Directors.
•Ability to follow all safety guidelines.
•Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications to meet Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.
•All of the youth worker candidates who are offered a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire will have to submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage with parent authorization.
•Prior to working with members, all youth employees must attend 5 hours of required BGCA trainings, that will be presented by qualified Club professionals.
•This organization has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and will not tolerate mistreatment or abuse in its programs. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment and cooperation with law enforcement.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
•All of the candidates who are offered a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.
